When the sun is shining and strikes the solar panel, the motor starts up and then the rotating crystal will “create beautiful rainbows that move around the room.” However, when the sun hides behind clouds or the motor fails to function, the colorful spots do not appear in her office. We have something of a parallel here with our understanding of the Eucharist. It is, of course, a major mystery of the Cathedral tradition.
